We went to our gym on the 31st and they took the kids trick or treating around the gym. Afterwards they each got a Halloween cupcake. Macy was in heaven. She really loves being around kids her age and she of course loved the extra sugar. She was so proud of her little treat sack she colored on!
For our friends Halloween party Macy wouldn't wear her real costume so she only wore black pants with an orange shirt. At the ward party she wore her cousin Addie's old pink princess/dance outfit. It looked cute but we really wanted her to be a duck!
On Halloween day, an hour before the Colonies Halloween Parade I asked her one more time if she wanted to be a duck and she said yes! Here are the preliminary duck pictures. I'm really glad I took these even though she isn't wearing her orange tights.
She thought the costume was funny and liked petting the soft feathers. She didn't like wearing the hat for long. I don't blame her, the costume is size 6-12 months so I'm sure the hat didn't fit well.
Here we are outside ready for the parade to start. A lot of kids from our neighborhood showed up to walk from the Tot Lot to the Clubhouse. Macy really enjoyed seeing the other kids in their costumes.
Here is a group picture. Macy actually enjoyed sitting on the planter and didn't want to get down. I guess she felt like she fit in with the rest of the kids. Either that or she liked little Robin sitting next to her. We did see him at the pool a lot last summer.
From here the kids walked down the the clubhouse. Macy didn't want to walk so I carried her. The whole time she kept saying "raid! raid!" because I told her we were in a parade. She was so excited. Along the route a few people came out of the building to pass out candy. Of course Macy wanted some. I couldn't get her to say trick or treat but she did say please. That's pretty good right? One lady passed out beanie babies so now Macy is the proud owner of Stilts the Stork. She loved that little thing and wouldn't let us touch it.

Here is Macy our plump little duck enjoying her juice at the Clubhouse.
Macy also enjoyed the pizza. She eats by grabbing the food with her hand then pushing it onto the fork, then takes a bite. It's so cute, but can be messy. She then ate one bite of every piece of candy in her bag. She was so excited to open them and see what they are. She kept asking me, "was' 'his?" (What's this?) I would tell her the name of the candy and she would say "ohh."
Macy had such a great time at the party and really didn't want to come home. However, we were able to coerce her out and she must have been on a sugar high because she was crazy happy on the walk home. She was running, hitting me and laughing, laughing, talking about something, and just being happy. She must have been telling us about all the fun she had that day. It was so much fun to celebrate with her and I can't wait for all the years to come!
