Cute Macy Faces

As promised here are collages of the cutest Macy faces. It was so fun to remember her growing up and how cute and happy she was (and still is)! I can't believe she's only been around for 2 years! I love her sweet little face so much!

Family Day at the Swedish Embassy

We happened to be looking at the House of Sweden online and noticed that today they were having a Family Day for kids. We love taking advantage of what D.C. has to offer so we headed to D.C. to check it out. Macy had a great time because there was a coloring table, cookies, apples, bananas and elderberry juice (she called it apple juice). Her most favorite thing was the "fish pond" where she got a special treat bag.
A cool water wall.

She enjoyed sitting on the pillows and rugs waiting for story time to start. But as soon
as the  story time actually started she wanted out.

Hmmm, what will I catch?

A goodie bag!

She was so excited to get her goodie bag.

Even more excited when she discovered there was chocolate inside!

Macy was so happy that she kept showing it to the camera.

Macy's Funny Faces

I was looking through old pictures and I noticed Macy has a lot of funny faces. She's had them since birth and they have often been photographed. There was only a very short time in her life when she would sit and smile for the camera. I had to do a collage of my favorite funny Macy faces. She does have cute little smiles and faces too, they're harder to catch on camera. Funny or not, she is still my super cute girl!

While finding these pictures I was reminded of all of the adorable Macy faces. I'll have to a collage of my most favorite Macy pictures too.

Macy and Her Colors

Macy still enjoys coloring and drawing. She is more of a free hand drawer than a coloring book colorer. She enjoys using pens, pencils, crayons, and markers. She is very good about only coloring on paper and nothing else. However, one time she slipped and drew with a purple crayon on the kitchen trash can. When I saw it I told her we only color on paper, not trash cans. Now when she sees the coloring job she says, "No trash, only paper." Very smart Macy. If we ever get a book from the library that has scribbles on it she'll point to them and say, "No book, only paper." I'm so proud of her for learning that concept so quickly.

Macy aslo recognizes all the colors (red, orange, pink, yellow, purple, blue, green, brown, black) and can say the right color when I ask her. Orange is the cutest one she says. (Sort of sounds like orng but with a French accent.) She loves to draw pictures for Papa. I always ask her who the picture is for even though I know she'll say Papa. Every now and then she'll thrown in daddy but it's usually Papa. I love it when she'll be drawing something pretty intently and then she'll come up to me and tell me all about it in her cute animated way. I can't understand what she's saying but she's very happy and proud about her drawings.

This picture is her latest. She colors so much there's no way I could save every paper but I really liked this one for her use of colors and deliberate shapes and lines. I know she's only two so it's nothing really spectacular but I'm still proud of her drawings. I hope she keeps it up!

Cherry Blossoms at Tidal Basin

We took advantage of the beautiful weather today and visited Tidal Basin and the FDR memorial so we could enjoy the gorgeous cherry blossoms. I've been three years now and every time it amazes me by how beautiful they are against the water. The memorials look more monumental with the pretty blossoms in the background too. I love that we live so close to D.C. so we can take advantage of things like this!

Macy and I were joined by Tiffany, Lily, Holly, Mark, Tiffany's neighbor and her son.

The kids loved the statue of Fala. Macy is afraid of real dogs so she took her time petting one that wasn't scary. Her and Mark kept saying, "puppy! puppy!"

Macy was trying to hold Lily's hand and give her a kiss. Lily wouldn't have any of it.

However, Lily definitely enjoyed getting a kiss from Mark and holding his hand! You can't get any cuter than this!

The kids also loved walking around on the ledges. Macy loves to play and run around with Mark. Anytime he would walk away she would say, "More Marky!" and run after him. In the top right corner you can see Macy and she pooped out and laid on the dirty stairs. She thought it was pretty funny.

Macy being a stinker and not looking at the camera. We had to improvise a little but it's still a cute picture.

Busy Being Cute

We've had a fun month so far this March. I don't know if we ever have an un-fun month! We've been keeping busy playing with cousins and friends and happily enjoying the nice weather. Here are some of the highlights.
Macy the teenager lounging in her recliner.

Macy the Basket Head.

Macy and Lily at the Chick-fil-a playground. Lily starting folding her arms so Macy joined in the "prayer."

Macy was intrigued by the toy light saber at the store.
Macy goes to the gym Kids Klub while I exercise and shower. One day she came out with this cute little ponytail. She actually kept it in her hair for a long time. Why won't she let me do that?! I have decided though that this summer I will force her to wear a ponytail of some sort because her hair is getting so long. She gets very sweaty in the summer and her hair would just get gross.

Yay for Frosties!
One Sunday afternoon Greg and the boys came over to play. Greg got down at Macy's level and started talking to her. She very surprisingly started to have a conversation with him and told him all sorts of things I couldn't understand. She was very happy and animated while talking to him. When Greg walked away she said, "More" and patted to the ground where he was kneeling. He had to come back and listen to more of her unintelligible stories. It was so cute and funny because usually she is afraid of him and won't even look at him. Later on she sat on his lap and told him more stories and talked about her toys. Macy talks about Papa all the time so I thought maybe Macy thought Greg was her Papa. But I asked her if he was Papa and she said no. It was so cute I had to take a picture to document since it may never happen again. They were best buds for a few hours.

Macy took all her stuffed animals out and lined them up along her crib. She then sat down at the end.

Play Group at the Fire House

Our little play group got our own tour of the fire house last week. The oldest kid there was 2 1/2 so it was a very simple tour but the kids are old enough to like big trucks, especially the boys. It was fun and the firemen were very nice to accommodate us. Luckily they only got a call at the end of our trip so the kids got a lot of playing time in the fire truck.

Macy loved the fire hat. She wouldn't let go of it.
The whole morning Macy talked about the fire truck and that she wanted to go "in" the truck. Once her time came to get in the truck she got very scared. I was able to snap this shot and then she was done. I was hoping to get a picture of her driving the truck but she wouldn't go back in.

One fireman dressed up in his gear for pictures. Macy was too scared to get close so I took a picture of James instead.

Macy did not want to put that hat down! She wanted it on but only halfway on.
