June 2015

June 1- I love these two! I love how Anna and Macy still love holding Owen.
June 2- Macy had a fun time pushing Owen around in the doll stroller and he loved it too. It was grand fun until Anna pushed Owen around and took a corner too sharp and Owen tipped over onto the ground.
June 3- the girls helped me make yummy sugar cookies for the girls party I blogged about earlier.
June 4- we went to a park and it was actually cold. I didn't have a jacket for Owen so he wore Anna's purple princess jacket.

June 5- I love capturing moments like this. Anna was pretending to be a baby so she climbed in the swing.

This is our daily life right here. Macy and Anna are wrestling which most likely ended in someone crying. Owen was being pushed around in the stroller but got abandoned. He's as happy as he can be with his "broken leg" as Macy says. (It's because he puts it straight out as if in a cast.)

Friday night swimming with the Campbells.
We made s'mores on the grill to enjoy along with our pizza, watermelon, and salad.

June 6- Macy and Anna are often heard saying, "can I hold Owen?" Macy likes to carry him while standing up too.

June 8- the girls had their first sleepover! We watched the Campbell kids while their parents went out for their anniversary. They were quick to dress up Colton.
We decided this would also be the first night Anna slept in a big girl bed. We figured she would want to sleep with the big girls anyways. She took a long time to fall asleep (which kept everyone else up) and fell out twice during the night. But she now sleeps in a toddler bed! Thank goodness for bed rails!

Ja made pancakes for everyone in the morning.

June 9- Owen sucking his thumb is the cutest thing.

June 10- the girls like to get Owen up from his nap.

June 12- swimming with the Campbells again. We kind of made it a tradition to swim together Friday nights. We get pizza and swim.

June 15- Anna was helpful and fed Owen a bottle. At least part of one.

June 16- our ward is awesome and the RS has a boating night. I went last year but didn't bring a bathing suit because I thought it was more of a leisurely boat ride around the lake. I was wrong! I made sure to bring a suit this year. We had a boat and a jet ski. The water and weather was perfect! The silhouette picture is me on the left, Kristen D., and Chelsie Campbell.
Me and Chelsie on the jet ski.

June 17- Owen is adorable all the time but especially in the bath when eating his toes.

June 18- Macy went to a camp called Safety Town that the police department puts on. The set up the elementary school gym like a town and the kids get to ride trikes around and learn about bike safety. They also learned about school bus safety, gun safety, and other things.
There was supposed to be a graduation the last day but the schools AC broke and it was too hot so it was canceled.

June 21- Father's Day! Ja wanted to go on a hike in Latta for Father's Day. This picture is a good representation of his Amazing fathering abilities.

June 27- we drove up to Virginia for the weekend because Trevor and Heather adopted Z. Ja and I saw her be sealed in the temple and then Saturday night was a super fun dance party. The girls were exhausted after! I don't get many pictures of them sleeping so I had to snap a couple.

June 28- Owen was so happy when I got him up in the morning. I love waking up to this sweet boy!

June 29- Owen eats his feet more often now. Kids are so flexible!

We've enjoyed swimming in our pool this summer. Although having 3 kids isn't easy the girls do well. Anna keeps her green monster floatie on and Macy can swim on her own. I usually sit with Owen on the steps while the girls do their own thing.

Today I tried the baby floatie and Owen liked it. However the girls fought over who was going to pull him around. This wouldn't be a huge deal if Owen were a little bigger. When he sits forward the water level is up to his chin and he could potentially drown. The problem is expounded when they hold on to him and pull the float down further into the water. Even with all of this, we still have a great time in the pool!

4th of July Bash

Happy Independence Day!
We had an awesome 4th of July party at our house this year. A group of friends helped plan the party of the year that included a bounce house waterslide combo, water balloons, good food, pretty decorations, fireworks, sparklers, s'mores and lots of people.

Katie did a great job with the decorations

Doesn't the dessert look yummy?

Macy, Alyssa, Kinzley (Anna would not go down the slide! Or in the bounce house!)

The little brothers wanting to join in on the fun

I loved having a big party in our backyard! That's why we wanted a yard. The bouncehouse was on one side, people ate on the other half, and all the food was on the patio. We had about 45 people! And when a rainstorm came we had 45 people in our house! Here are the kids watching a movie during the rain.
The rain stopped just in time for us to do fireworks in the pool parking lot. The kids thought that was fun because we were so close to the fireworks. I loved seeing the look of wonder and amazement on their faces.

We all had so much fun and want to plan another party because it was such a hit. Maybe it can be a yearly party!

Can you tell Macy and Alyssa put lipstick on themselves?

We had a great little fireworks show in the pool parking lot behind our house. It was the perfect spot for it! The kids were mesmerized and enjoyed the show and the sparklers after.

Owen is 6 months old!

This little cutie is 6 months old! Here are his stats:

Weight: 17 lbs 5.5 oz (43rd percentile)

Height: 27 1/2 inches (83rd percentile)

Head circumference: 44cm (99th percentile)

Owen is now rolling over. Not enough to to be rolling all over the room but enough to get a toy close by.

We all love this cuddly, smiley, happy boy!

Super Macy to the rescue!

Macy was rescuing Owen from a fateful death of rolling over.

She loves that she can hold him and I love that he's half her size.

Tonight Macy fed Owen a bottle, sang him a song, and almost put him in his crib (Ja had to help out). She then made sure his lullaby bear played him a song. She is the best and sweetest big sister.

Bedtime with Anna

We switched Anna to the toddler bed because Owen outgrew the bassinet and therefore needs the crib. She has not been doing very well at staying in her bed at night. She doesn't fall asleep until 9 or 9:30 which means she's tired and cranky during the day. I want my happy, sweet, and funny Anna back! Not the one who is always yelling and stands on Macy's head just because she wants to. (Macy was lying on the couch today and Anna came and stood on her head/hair which pulled Macy's hair. I could hear Macy screaming from out in the backyard but didn't think much of it because she often screams for no reason. I came inside to Ja taking Anna to time out and a hysterical Macy.)

Anyways, tonight was one of those nights when Anna didn't want to go to bed and either did Owen. Macy was exhausted and had gone right to sleep.

At 9 I try putting Owen to bed again. Anna was in her bed but kept coming into Owens room which distracted him. I told her to either go in my room or her room. I just needed her to leave me alone. I finally got Owen down so I go looking for Anna but I can't find her. I texted this to Ja:

"I just had a bad scare. I was feeding Owen (who doesn't like the formula) and when came out of his room I couldn't find Anna. I walk downstairs and see the front door wide open!! I was calling her name but she didn't answer. She was really mad you weren't here to put her to bed so I had visions of her walking around outside trying to find you. Luckily I found her eating Whoppers at the black table. The only tragedy of the night is now we have a bunch of flies in the house again."

I'm so glad she's safe. I hate that she's tall enough to unlock our doors!

I hope and pray that she will soon get the sleep she needs. In the crib she was sleeping from 7pm-at least 8 am. Now she won't fall asleep until 9/9:30 and is up at 7:30/8. That's 3 hours less sleep! I want my happy Anna back!

She fell asleep in the car like this on Tuesday. We were in the way home from the library hence the little pencil and paper.

I was able to transfer her to the couch where she slept for almost an hour.

I came downstairs to find her like this. She must have fallen off the couch! My poor tired girl!

Macy the little hostess

Macy had the thought that we don't have Anna's friends over very often so she wanted to have a party for Anna and her friends. I agreed with her so we planned a party. Macy had lots of ideas for games, crafts, and activities. We had to narrow her thoughts down to a few simple things. Macy wanted to play in the sprinkler, play pin the strip of paper on the wall, color, dress up, sidewalk chalk, snacks (pretzels, goldfish), and a dance party.

We weren't able to get to all those things. The day of the party was only 63 degrees so we didn't play in the sprinklers. We forgot about pin the strip of paper on the wall but we did everything else. Macy decorated our house a few days before. She put all the winter scarves around the downstairs and a couple on the chandeliers. She put winter hats on the picture frames that are on our mantel. She also put other random things around the house and called them decorations. She invited Emma, Tatum (and her brother Miles since we couldn't leave him out), Audrey, and Anna of course.

Macy was all ready to take charge of the party until the friends and moms came. Then she got a little shy.

When the girls got there Macy took them upstairs to get dressed up as princesses. The little girls loved this!

Princess Audrey joined the group but we lost Emma.

The sidewalk chalk didn't last too long because the kids were cold.
Tatum said she was "told" so Macy put a jacket on her.

A few of the kids did Macys craft. She had paper, crayons, stickers, glue, and pom poms out. Kids love gluing pom poms on paper! I could have had an actual cute craft planned but I wanted it to be all of Macy's ideas.

I guess I did persuade Macy to have cookies for the party. It was a party after all! The girls were very helpful making the cookies and frosting. They picked out the shapes to cut the sugar cookies put the sprinkles on themselves. The kids loved the cookies! (Notice the scarf on the chandelier.)

Then we had the dance party. Macy loved this and the girls all had fun. Miles was dancing along too and had some great moves! Notice the puppy hanging from the light switch on the left picture. That was one of Macy's "decorations." Macy loves being in charge so it was heaven for her to have a house of little girls to boss around. She does this in such a way that the girls love following Macy around.

The party also included a few fashion shows. Macy and the kids went upstairs by themselves and dressed up in different outfits. I had to announce who was coming down the stairs and what they were  wearing. The child would walk to the end of the living room then do a spin. It was so cute. I think they did this 3 or 4 times.

The party was a great success! The girls all loved it and no one wanted to go home. Macy is such a kind sister for thinking of Anna and her friends. Ever since the party Anna loves seeing her friends and plays with them when we see them at the park. Anna is also excited to see them at nursery. We'll have to do it again sometime!
