Jonathan let me sleep in on Saturday by getting Macy up and playing with her. It was a nice treat. This is what I woke up to. I think she likes her new chair.
She loves to sit up now that she can. Laying down playing with toys isn't as much fun as it used to be.

Fun Trip Friday
On a whim I decided to go downtown for something to do, and I'm so glad I did! Macy loved the new scenery (her mom did too) and it was a beautiful day! I was even able to get a great parking spot right next to the Tulip Library, which I didn't even know existed. We walked around for 2 hours around the Tidal Basin, Jefferson, and FDR Memorials. It was wonderful to take my time, no need to rush home or hurry through things because I have to see it all. I love this city and love living so close to it! To top it all off, my arms and face aren't pasty white anymore!

The Lovely Bones
by Alice Sebold.
I'm not sure how I feel about this book. It did make me think about things: people, relationships, children, death, heaven. But I'm not sure I would recommend it to anyone. It was a book I couldn't put down, but not in the same way I couldn't put down Harry Potter or Twilight. I did enjoy it now that I'm done reading it. I guess I'm writing this post to let you know it's a book that's out there and an interesting read.
It's about a 14 year old girl who was murdered and watches her family from heaven.

A Few More Pictures
These were taken with my phone so the quality isn't good. Sometimes that's the closest camera and I figure a low quality picture is better than no picture. I'm sorry for the bombardment of Macy pictures. I'm doing this mostly for the far away relatives so please bear with me. What what am I talking about, I think she's the cutest baby ever so I can put as many pictures of her as I want on my blog! She is also the best baby ever! So there! Actually, Jonathan and I were talking about that last night. We are a little worried what Macy's siblings are going to be like because she really is sooo good. We put her down for cribs and naps, while she's awake Mom, and she goes to sleep without a tear shed. She stays asleep too. We just love our little girl!
Macy Slideshow
Please enjoy new Macy pictures. I know there are a lot of the same, but I couldn't choose which to take out so I put all of them in the slideshow.

If you're curious
I use two websites to get good deals:
1. Coupon Mom- I use this website because she has a page for a grocery store here in Virginia. I also use her list for CVS, Rite-Aid, and Walgreens. I look at Target and Wal-Mart too, but they usually don't have anything at such a good price that makes it worth it to drive all the way out there. This blogger said she only buys things if they are 75% off or more so that's what I try and do. She also has other good information on her website to help save money.
2. Grocery Smarts- from the She Shops Smart Blog. I usually check the Coupon Mom blog first then cross check it with this one to see if she gives anything 5 stars that I haven't already written down. Since Virginia isn't a state listed I use Southern California's because VONS there is the same company as Safeway here. The prices are usually a little more expensive here than in CA, but still on sale. I check in my weekly circular to make sure the items are on sale.
If you are interested in doing all of this, be sure to start here and read how it's recommended to shop.
In conjunction with those two websites I also get the Sunday newspaper for coupons. So far it's really paid off! I really enjoy my Sunday evenings or Monday mornings checking the web for great deals and coupons. I'm very lucky Macy happily accompanies me to all the different stores.
Happy shopping!
And another thing...
Rite Aid is pretty much giving away a Gillette Fusion Razor- Power, Crest Pro Health toothpaste, and an Oral B Advantage toothbrush. I'll have paid $1.08 when I get my rebate check.
It pays to coupon :)

I {heart} CVS
I was very proud of my CVS purchases today. I bought: 3 large vegetable oils, contact solution, 2 dawn dish soaps, bag of candy (for Primary- those kids better like us), Reese's dark, 2 Stride gum packs, and 2 cans of chicken broth.
I paid only $3.24!
Plus I got $10.48 in extra bucks that can be applied to my next purchase.
I love saving money.

Macy and Friends
This is a post dedicated to the cutest of my daughter. She's only been asleep for an hour and I already miss her!
I changed her crib sheet today so I had to take out all the stuffed animals she has in it. She was sitting in the rocking chair so I decided to put them around her for a picture.
She was eating piglet's ear so I let her keep him. I think they are best buds now.
It looks like she fell asleep, but she's only blinking.
As for other things, she really loves sucking on her hands now. While driving in the car I can hear the binkie hit her car seat buckle, then the cute sucking sounds she makes on her hands.
Thanks to the warm weather, Macy can finally have her feet exposed. I had to take a picture of the cuteness.

Let's Go Fly a Kite!
Saturday morning Ja successfully cooked something out of his new Julia Child cookbook. The winner was Eggs Benedict. They were so good! My mouth is watering just looking at the picture. He did the work all by himself and I was so proud I had to take a picture.
Later that day we metroed to D.C. to see the Kite Festival. There were tons of people on the mall flying kites. Anyone who wanted could send a kite flying and the result was very fun to see. I loved all the colors and shapes that filled the sky. Next year Macy is definitely flying a kite!
Per Ja's request we stopped in a nice spot to play a little frisbee. It was such a beautiful day I couldn't resist. We continued to walk down the mall to enjoy the festival.
That night one of Ja's coworkers treated us to dinner at Buca de Beppo. That was delicious too! This was my idea of a perfect Saturday: good food, good weather, and fun outdoor activities.
